We were swimming at a friend’s house and my 4-year-old (at the time), said he was finished. I took his Puddle Jumper off. All the kids got out to have snacks, and at some point, he decided he wanted to swim one more time and without thinking, just jumped in the water, nowhere near where he could touch. Thankfully I heard the splash and was close enough I could reach in and grab him by the back of his swim shirt, but he completely panicked because he expected to float! He had no idea what to do. It was terrifying for him and all of us who witnessed it, but I’m also so very grateful I happened to see it happen.
