All of you saying “I did it and my kids are fine” need to remember…so was her son, until he wasn’t. I’m young/old enough now that I DID wear one of these as a child and am now an adult who couldn’t swim in an emergency situation. I’m taking swim lessons because I’m nearly 22 and CAN NOT swim, more than in a vertical “tread water” kind of way, due to ALWAYS having a device on me as a child. I also almost drowned while wearing one of these devices in water that wasn’t calm.
