My 3 yr old was wearing one as we swam at my friend’s house this summer. I took it off and gave the rule that he doesn’t go in without it or without Mom. We finished eating and my middle child yelled to me that he was in the pool without his puddle jumper. I ran over to see him swimming back to the steps as he has been in swim classes but hasn’t been taught to swim fully on his own. I asked why he went in and he said he forgot he wasn’t wearing it. Scared us both tremendously. I am grateful he knew life-saving skills
